Following remarks made by Dennis Kucinich today on The City Club of Cleveland’s virtual forum, first-time candidate Justin Bibb accepts his challenge to a one-on-one basketball game.
"I'm ready to go. I'll play one-on-one basketball with any other candidates and see how I do. I'm in good shape. I'm in the best shape of my life,” (42.33s), Kucinich said in response to a question posed by a listener about his age.
“It’s encouraging to see Dennis recognize the importance of youth, energy, vitality and healthy communities. Let’s play the first to 21 points. The winner and loser will each make a personal contribution of $100 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland, and I invite others to also donate by visiting their website at www.clevekids.org,” said Justin Bibb.
“You pick the time and place and I’ll see you there,” Bibb said. “I look forward to hearing from Dennis to firm up the details,” he added.
Justin Bibb was raised on the southeast side of the city by his mom who is a social worker and his dad who was both a police officer and firefighter. As a college student, he worked for President Obama and later earned law and business degrees at Case Western. He currently leads initiatives to help make cities safer and more resilient and launched a nonprofit focused on advancing racial equity and economic opportunity. As Mayor, he’ll reform policing, address violent crime, and ensure high-quality education for our children.
